Somebody
Else

I hear what others
say about the man they think I am.
They say that life can still be rich and I should give a damn
But I stopped enjoying being me that cold and dark gray day
When she said her goodbyes to me and turned and walked away.
So I want to be somebody else, just for a little while.
I know that it would feel so good, if only I could smile.
No worries, trouble, or distress, a new life to begin.
I want to be somebody else, and find love once again.
I now regret the many times that I wasn’t there
To hold her and to love her and to tell her that I cared.
So much hurt has come about ‘cause I didn’t see
I was losing her a bit each day, I’d sealed my destiny
So I want to be somebody else, just for a little while.
I know that it would feel so good, if only I could smile.
No worries, trouble, or distress, a new life to begin.
I want to be somebody else, and find love once again.
Now I’m looking in the mirror
For a smile that’s hiding there
I made mistakes, I paid the price,
But now it’s time to change, if I dare.
I’m going to be somebody else, for just a little while.
I know that it will feel so good, when I can find that smile.
No worries, trouble, or distress, a new life to begin.
I’m going to be somebody else, and find love once again.
I’m going to be somebody else, for just a little while.
I know that it will feel so good, when I can find that smile.
No worries, trouble, or distress, a new life to begin.
I’m going to be somebody else, and find love once again.
