On one side for three years, tear stains to mark my place
As if I was trapped in time with no where else to face
Wanting who you’d promised, wishing she were there
Fearing if I moved at all the dream would disappear

But I’ve moved to the middle of the bed
Lots of room to stretch and breathe
I’ve begun to see beyond that now transparent wall
And find a space that’s just for me

No more hanging on the side or searching each kind face
Wondering if she is the one to finally take your place
Fresh sheets full of promise come with this way to view
Strong, new ways to live and think without the ghost of you

But I’ve moved to the middle of the bed
Lots of room to stretch and breathe
I’ve begun to see beyond that now transparent wall
And find a space that’s just for me

No more sittin on the sidelines, won’t rearrange my life
So I can look to find someone who wants to be my wife
So I’m moving to the middle, that’s quite all right you’ll see
‘Cause I found someone to take your place, and that someone is me

So I’ve moved to the middle of the bed
Lots of room to stretch and breathe
I’ve begun to see beyond that now transparent wall
And find a space that’s just for me

I’ve begun to see beyond that now transparent wall
And find a space that’s just for me
