Me On Her Mind

She ‘d always waited for me when I was going out
This time I pushed the limit, in that there is no doubt
I told her I was headed to see a friend in town
Who would ever think that she would go and track me down
When she saw me on the dance floor with that so called friend
She just turned around and headed for the barstool at the end.
Now she’s sitting at the bar,
Looking mighty fine
Shooting back tequila
Sucking on a lime
She’s flirting with the cowboys,
They’re standing in a line
And I know what drove her to it,
It was me on her mind.
How am I going to fix this, where should I begin
Every time before this I could find a tale to spin
If I tell her nothing’s going on, it wouldn’t be too wise.
This time I better dream up a doozie of a lie
She’s not the kind of gal who is going to scream and shout
But i’m betting she’ll get even before the night is out
And she’s sitting at the bar,
Looking mighty fine
Shooting back tequila
Sucking on a lime
She’s flirting with the cowboys,
They’re standing in a line
And I know what drove her to it,
It was me on her mind.
She really has them drooling now, she’s making quite a scene
Still looking awful hot in those real tight fitting jeans
I know she won’t be going home with me tonight
But still i’d like to find a way to make things right
So I better go and get in line with those other guys
Before somebody thinks up some better lies than mine
She’s still sitting at the bar,
Looking mighty fine
Shooting back tequila
Sucking on a lime
She’s flirting with the cowboys,
They’re standing in a line
And I know what drove her to it,
It was me on her mind.
Oh no, I wish it wasn’t
Me on her mind
