I was born and raised in Sherman, Texas where I discovered my love for music at an early age. I started performing at the age of 10 playing the guitar and singing. After many years of performing solo, I decided to put a band together. After selecting a group of musicians through local tryouts we formed the Heart of Texas Band.
Allen Hurt and the Heart of Texas Band performed throughout North Texas and Oklahoma developing a loyal following for over 3 years. I realized that our music appealed to the larger crowds and so we started a journey to get there. When word got out of my desire, things began to change. The band soon found themselves on the road to Branson, Missouri playing for thousands of people each night. Many of those same people still ask for Allen Hurt and the Heart of Texas Band. Since I retired from playing to concentrate on my songwriting, many loyal fans still miss me as much as I miss them.

I have just released a new CD called A Long Time Comin' which is a collection of original music written over the last year. I think this album captured a lot of my unique style that combines elements of Bluegrass, Old Time Country, and maybe Folk, as well as my own vocal style. I hope that my fans will like it as much as I do.I love the stage, I love my fans and Country Music. My songs come from the heart and the people are what I am all about. Without them, I don’t need to sing. I hope to see you soon. Until then, I'd love to hear from you.
