Alex Townes is a singer / songwriter who been playing guitar and singing music since he was a 6. He was classically trained at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland, but played folk and rock music throughout high school and college.

After moving to Dallas, he settled into a job in the corporate world, but continued his musical interests through his participation in the Church choir, the Community Chorus, and the Kirk Singers. 

A couple of years ago, Alex left his corporate job to focus on his music. Since then he has been writing songs and performing both on his own and with local bands.

He is a member of the Dallas Songwriters Association and has had five songs chosen as one of the top 2 songs in the monthly song critiques, has won 3 quarterly Lyric Contests and had two songs chosen as semi-finalists in the 2003 DSA Songwriting contest -
"Rainbows in Her Tears" and "Mom's In Charge".

 He now has over 24 original songs copyrighted but is still working towards getting that first big break. Anyone care  to help a friendly musician?

Alex has produced and released three CDs, 
"Dreams and Expectations" in 2001,
and "Somebody Else" in 2002,
and "All Around Townes" in  2003 .
